 OLQP (Northern Alberta) History

Our Lady Queen of Peace Ranch (Northern Alberta) Ltd. is a non-denominational, non-profit  organization located in NE Edmonton and is the second Ranch governed by OLQP Foundation (Canada) Inc. The first Ranch located in Bragg Creek was founded in 1988 and we are now here in Edmonton to continue our legacy of providing FREE outdoor adventures for children 0-18 who struggle with physical, mental or financial challenges.

In the early 2000’s word had gotten to as far as Fort. McMurray that OLQP South had an outstanding FREE facility providing weeklong residential summer camps. Many Agencies from Northern Alberta would transport their children to the southern ranch to participate in our programming as there were no similar options within their local region. The founders recognized that there was an opportunity to reach more children in need and in 2004 started on a quest to obtain the land and development permits to start a second ranch in Edmonton.

In 2009, after years of planning and construction, the second Ranch finally was able to open it’s facilities providing Day trips to Agencies working with our mandated children and then in 2011 began offering all 5 programs: Day Trips, Off-Season Camping, Weeklong Residential Summer Camp, Weekend Family Camp and our Annual Children’s Christmas Party.

This is a very exciting time for all of us at OLQP, through our experiences we know that thousands of lives will be positively impacted by participating in our full array of programming.
