Primarily it is our goal to provide a fun, outdoor recreational experience to those children who due to their financial standing and behavioral challenges would otherwise not have the opportunity to experience a children’s summer camp.

 

Residential Summer Camp is a wonderful opportunity for children to grow as they are transported into what seems like another world when they enter our Valley. They show up so unsure of what to expect, often nervous questioning, ‘Will I fit in? I’ve never fit in anywhere.’

 

It is our goal to empower every child that comes into our care so that when they leave at the end of the week they have succeeded in someway. We want them to have that experience to reflect upon so that when they have to face other challenges in the real world they have the confidence to try. Whether or not their success at camp seems significant to others is not important because it is through simple changes in ones life, over time, that have the greatest impact.

 

Our second objective is to make sure the children have a fantastic time. Many of our campers come from very rough backgrounds that have caused them to grow fast and hard and we want to supply them with the opportunity to remember what its like to be a kid and spark the power of their imaginations.

 

Camp is a place where children are relieved from the labels they are given in their communities and are encouraged to learn about who they are and be their best selves.
