Day Trip Programming

***All OLQP Programming is FREE of Charge!***

Season Dates: April - October
Programming Hours:

Offseason (May - June/September - October)

Monday - Friday 10:00am - 4:00pm

Summer Season (July & August)
Monday - Friday 10:00am - 4:00pm
* Closed: Holidays
Maximum 100 participants per day (Multiple groups may be booked in one day sharing the facility).
Activities:
In addition to providing youth with a fun filled day, OLQP North Programming promotes playing with purpose. Groups visiting choose between 5 action packed program packages; where all activities support the objectives of the theme. This way, Agency leaders can choose activities that supplement their own therapeutic goals with their clients.
5 Themed Program Packages
Environmental Program
Basic introduction to the Nature of the Outdoors! Activities take participants to the woods, fields and lakes to discover the natural world around them. Example activities include: the Animal Game, Arts & Crafts, Hiking, Hot Dog Roast & Fort Building.

Virtues Program
Discover and develop personal virtues. Children learn about 5 specific virtues including Respect, Caring, Fairness, Responsibility, Trustworthiness & Citizenship. This program aims to help understand exactly what being good means. Example activities include: Canoeing, Group Cooperative Games, Arts & Crafts and a Hike.

Fun! Program
This program is ment to ignite the imagination and let kids be kids. It's like having recess all day! Dress up and themes such as Pirate, Caveman and Rockstar are used to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. Participants enjoy activities such as: a Hay Wagon Ride, Water Games, Shaving Cream Sculptures, Field Games, Campfire Sing Along with a Marshmallow Roast and Free-time with lots of toys all of us adults wanted in our childhood.
Teamwork/Leadership Program
Aims at fostering unity within a group of youth and encouraging leadership skill development by giving each youth a chance to be the boss. Activities include: Canoeing, an Amazing Race (a circuit of group cooperative games around the camp) and Arts & Crafts.
**Note: This program is not recommended for participants who have never met one another before.

Discovering Self-Worth Program
Children learn that they have worth just becuase they are not becuase of what they can do. Focuses on building confidence, taking safe risks and feeling successful. This program encourages its participants to turn on their imaginations, push the boundaries of their personal comfort zone and see what they are capable of. Activities include: Theatre Games, Treasure Hunt & Puzzles, Canoeing, Arts & Crafts and non-competitive Sports (i.e. Frisbee Golf). A great program for all ages and abilities.
