Event Description
 
This is an event specifically for financially challenged children and their families; the goal being provision of a Christmas Experience to families who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford to do so for themselves.
  
Like all OLQP Programs, this event is completely FREE OF CHARGE.
 
 
Activities:
  • Individualized present for all child participants
  • Horse Rides
  • Hay Wagon Ride
  • Food: Chili, Hot Dogs, Ice Cream, Candy Floss, Chips, Hot Dogs, Popcorn & Slush
  • Family Pictures with Santa
  • Trading Post: selection of new and gently used clothing - FREE!
  • Hats & Gloves: new winter hat and mitts for all child participants 
  • Activity Tent: Christmas Arts and Crafts, Games, Caroleing 
  • Petting Zoo: Rabbits, Goats and other fun farm animals to befriend

 

Volunteer Opportunities: A Gift of Your Time

In today’s busy society the gift of your time is very precious. By volunteering for a few hours this November at our Christmas Party or one of its planning events, you will be helping hundreds of underprivileged children’s dreams come true!  
 
November 15th: Shopping Day
Shop for 1000 children’s requested Christmas Presents without spending a cent of your own money. 
Location: Toys R Us— 3945 Calgary Trail
Time: 8:00am - Noon (or until completed)
 
November 17th: Sorting and Wrapping of Gifts
Help to organize and wrap all of the previously purchased gifts
Location: Our Lady Queen of Peace Ranch 903 153 Avenue NE, Edmonton
Time: Sorting - 8:00am -12:00pm
 LUNCH PROVIDED!
Wrapping - 1:00pm - 3:00pm (or until completed)
 
November 24th: Annual Children’s Christmas Party
300 Volunteers are needed to make this day happen and there are many ways to help!
Choose from: Food Service, Gift Corrals, Security Team, Activity Leader/Face Painter, Green Team, Family Assistant, Photographer, Santa's Elf, Administration, Storage 
Location: Our Lady Queen of Peace Ranch 903 153 Avenue NE, Edmonton
Time: 8:00am - 4:00pm
 
 
Transportation:
 
Unlike our other programs, chartered buses are provided by OLQP to pick up & drop off all registered families at four predetermined locations throughout Edmonton and one out of St. Albert. The pick up locations will be determined and assigned to each Agency based on convenience and proximity.

All families attending the ACCP must register through one of our approved Christmas Agency's.
